With BrainPinball, we have succeeded in realising the popular slot machine game as an application for neurofeedback. We developed an innovative approach that combines operant conditioning (the basis of neurofeedback training) with the usual scoring system used in pinball.
This means that the client receives points if the neurofeedback criteria are achieved on the one hand and if the bumpers are hit with the ball on the other. The client can score extra points if both conditions are fulfilled at the same time.
The reward is given directly and without delay, which is an immense advantage for the therapy.
Perfect realisation of the familiar game principle

Otherwise, the feel and gameplay are similar to the classic pinball game. At the start of a round, a ball is thrown into the playing field from above through a track, from where it slowly rolls downwards. On its way, it hits bumpers that score points for every hit. Finally, the players have to press the eponymous pinball machine at the right time to send the ball back up again.

As BrainPinball is based on familiar and popular game mechanics, it is very quick and intuitive to understand. The unpredictable movements of the ball also make the game exciting over longer periods of time. And thanks to the independent operation of the flippers, the client is given the feeling that they are directly influencing the game with their thoughts.

Das ist unser neues Neurofeedback-Spiel namens IFEN Race in Verbindung mit der neuen Brainmaster AppMachine. Zum ersten Mal erlauben wir auch Mausbewegungen, um mehr Punkte zu erhalten.
So kombiniert es Aufmerksamkeit, Fokus und Entscheidungsfindung mit Neurofeedback. Als Ergotherapeut wollte Thomas Feiner schon immer mal ein Spiel entwickeln, bei dem auch motorische Elemente eine Rolle spielen, ohne dabei Artefakte zu erzeugen. Dies ist mit der Entwicklung von IFEN Race gelungen. Es erlaubt sowohl Maus und Keyboard (Cursor-Tasten) zur Steuerung des Fahrzeugs.

Yoga Master is the latest software from the development department of IFEN (Institute for EEG Neurofeedback).
What makes it special is the play of colours and the movements of the yoga master and the surrounding elements. It has a calming and immersive effect at the same time and is suitable for all types of neurofeedback.
